Psalm 12:5 - It’s awesome to see how through the groaning of the needy, the desperation for Him, creates a hunger that isn’t quickly quenched, but stirs a longing that moves His heart. “I will now arise,” says the Lord; “I will place him in the safety for which he longs.”
The safety for which we long is Jesus. In him we are satisfied, protected, and refreshed. And how much more he wants us to be in Him than us ourselves.
In Genesis 41; Joseph becomes the second in charge of all of Egypt, from the day before who he was a prisoner for a couple years.
In Matthew 17:22-23; Jesus talks to his disciples that he will get delivered to the hands of men, and killed. But then arise on the 3rd day.
In Psalm 12:5; David sings about how God hears the cry of the groaning, and he comes and places them in the safety that they Long for.
Take Away: My whole life I felt that there was supposed to be something there for me, or something good in my life. But all I remember is the trauma, and I was never told how to do things but was expected to do them. I had a good childhood, but the spiritual warfare that I had at a young age I believe because of the sensitivity to the spiritual realm that I had as a kid was scary and not understandable at that time. The lack of Love and intimacy from my Dad when I was growing up, and the conservativeness of my church I used to go, and the desire to be Loved. The desire to feel Loved, I never felt safe. And I felt oppression and demonic activity and Lies put in my mind by Demons telling me what to do, and I felt witchcraft done on my mind that I wouldn’t be able to think properly, and the witchcraft that was put on my family I felt as a kid because of my vulnerability and sensitivity to the spiritual realm. My vulnerability and openness was also hurt by the conservativeness of my church. I also just never felt safe, but I never knew what I felt because nobody taught me or showed me. My life experiences taught me to keep all of my emotions to myself and not express them. And also my feelings were hurt by friend groups, because they never made me feel heard, or appreciated, or noticed.
And The Lord is showing me that he wants me to cry to him and yearn for him, and he will make me feel safe. He will teach me and protect me before my enemies. He will be my shield and protecter. He is my Dad.
In Matthew 17:11-12 I have always wondered why Jesus claimed that Elijah would indeed come and restore all things but even more that he already had come and did. I always felt so confused as to what the heck John the Baptist restored, let alone all things?! Just now the Lord revealed to me that John was baptizing people into confession and repentance to prepare them for the coming messiah, because in his preparing the way of the Lord, he was calling people to holiness, restoring people to God by honesty and repentance. It makes me think of Malachi 4:6…. And honest to God in looking it up I realized I’ve read this same “revelation” directly because I just saw it in Luke 1:17. I feel silly but I’m grateful that at least it’s now rooted in my heart what repentance is really for.
Kinda cool you had this idea and then the next Sunday Peter Louis cones and talks about the same subject. I hope you caught this. God answering/adding/expanding on your understanding with witness/confirmation
