This week’s text

  • 1 Peter 1.1-21
  • Who wrote this letter?
    • Why is the Greek in 1 Peter so refined, and that of 2 Peter so rough and colloquial, like what we would expect from a Galilean fisherman?
    • Silas was amanuensis, which included putting the author’s thoughts into good Greek
  • appropriation of metaphors from the Jewish (OT) church, e.g. dispersion, exile, sprinkling of blood, et al.

The Lord's Prayer

(Erasmian)
