ἐνεργής
adjective. from preposition ἐν “in” + verb ἐνεργέω “be at work, be active, operate, be effective”
hence to be active and effectively at work in something, as the Word of God is living, and ἐνεργής (active and effectively operating) in us: piercing, dividing, and discerning.
from which we get our English word ‘energy’
